Leftists have a tendency of trying to change the rules of the game when they’re losing the game. This is par for the course for Democrats who fail to realize that their abysmal strategies and policies are why they will always lose.
In 2016, Democrats faced the greatest loss of all when President Donald Trump epically and indisputably beat Hillary Clinton. This shocked leftists who believed that 2016 was an easy win for Clinton; the left has yet to get over this which explains newfound calls to erase the Electoral College. After all, Trump defeated Clinton via the Electoral College, not the popular vote.

Over the weekend, Warren took to Twitter and professed that if she wins the 2020 presidential election, she’ll also end the Electoral College.
Warren on Ending the Electoral College
In a video, Warren professed her “goal” to be the “last American president” who is elected into office by the Electoral College. The senator stated that she wants to win her second term from the “direct vote” of the American people. Warren then spouted off a few more anti-Electoral College talking points by mentioning “democracy” and lauding the “popular vote.”
Warren’s statements tragically received great rounds of applause from audience members in the footage. What Warren’s audience, unfortunately, fails to realize is that the Electoral College exists so that states like California don’t determine the trajectory of an entire election.
Now, make no mistake, Warren is very much aware of this, but she’s lying to her supporters about the true motivations behind ending the Electoral College.
Why Democrats Really Want to End the Electoral College
Ending the Electoral College is not about an interest in democracy or the inclusion of votes. By contrast, it’s about Democrats attempting to “right” what they view as the “wrong” which occurred during the 2016 election.

Had Hillary Clinton defeated Trump with her winning the Electoral College and losing the popular vote, no Democrat would be calling for the end of the Electoral College. As previously stated, when Democrats lose, they seek out new ways to change the rules in their favor. The Electoral College didn’t give the left what they wanted during the last general election, so now they seek to end it.
At the end of the day, this is what ending the Electoral College ultimately boils down to, no matter what lies Elizabeth Warren feeds to her impressionable supporters.
