Billionaire businessman turned 2020 Democrat Mike Bloomberg has repeatedly taken cheap shots at President Trump.
By his own admission, Bloomberg is spending every dime he has all for the purposes of ensuring that Trump doesn’t win a second term in the White House. Not only is the billionaire businessman on record claiming that he doesn’t believe any of his opponents can beat Trump (yet Bloomberg somehow thinks he himself can), but he also stated that Americans who wish to keep guns in their homes are simply “stupid.”
Despite his presidential candidacy, Michael Bloomberg has never once appeared on a debate stage. Instead, he seems content just to throw tens of millions of dollars on fake news ads and maintain activity on his social media page.
On Friday, the president weighed in on Bloomberg’s candidacy via Twitter and had quite some words for the 2020 Democrat.
Why Won’t Bloomberg Debate Any of His 2020 Rivals?
At this time, the billionaire businessman is funding his presidential campaign with his own capital. In doing so, Bloomberg is unable to reach the donor requirements which the DNC sets in place for candidates to appear on the debate stages.
In the eyes of President Trump, Bloomberg’s choice to self-fund his campaign is an intentional means of shielding himself from ever having to debate his opponents. Yesterday, the president branded the billionaire businessman as “a terrible debater and speaker.” Trump’s tweet continued with him stating that if Bloomberg ever formally debated his opponents, the latter’s campaign would be worse off than it already is.
See for yourself:
Roughly half an hour later, President Trump put out another tweet, this time slamming the validity of Bloomberg’s ads. Trump dismissed the 2020 Democrat’s tactics as a “vanity project” for Bloomberg to get his name out and stand a chance of beating his opponents.
Not long afterward, Trump redirected the tweet’s focus to his own presidential accomplishments; these accomplishments include, but are certainly not limited to, tax reductions for working families, job creation, strengthening of the military, etc.
Why Bloomberg Cannot Win
Throughout his time as a presidential candidate, Bloomberg has proven his affliction with delusions. Not only does Bloomberg believe that he stands a chance against President Trump, but the 2020 Democrat also maintains that he could take moderate Republican support away from the president in the upcoming general election.
Bloomberg will never become president for several reasons. First and foremost, the DNC will never nominate him. Moreover, Bloomberg doesn’t excite or energize voters and his position on guns is enough to drive away some right-leaning to moderate Independents, at the very least.
If the billionaire businessman can’t even get on a primary debate stage with his in-party rivals, he certainly wouldn’t fare well on a general election debate stage, even if Democrats were foolish enough to nominate him.
At the end of the day, there is absolutely no scenario where Michael Bloomberg defeats President Trump. Therefore, Bloomberg should stop wasting his money and bow out of the 2020 race.
