The president recently sat down for an interview with Fox News‘ Laura Ingraham.
Now, while the full interview will air tonight, released excerpts show Trump weighing in on Robert Mueller and other matters which are currently happening in this country.
Reviewing Excerpts from President Trump’s Interview
First and foremost, it’s important to have context. Mueller made headlines last month after delivering comments about the Russia investigation. The special counsel admitted that he and his team were unable to charge the president with a crime. Now, this should have been the end of it. Innocent until proven guilty, right?
Sadly, this is a concept which many people seem to have forgotten in their eagerness to take down the president. Therefore, shortly after Mueller’s admission of being unable to charge Trump, the special counsel then went on to state that if his team felt confident that the president did not commit a crime, they would have articulated this.
The president shared his thoughts on this ordeal during his talks with Ingraham.
In Trump’s own words:
“Let me tell you, he made such a fool out of himself … because what people don’t report is the letter he had to do to straighten out his testimony because his testimony was wrong.”
Trump also shared his thoughts regarding House Speaker Nancy Pelosi:
“Nancy Pelosi, I call her Nervous Nancy, Nancy Pelosi doesn’t talk about it. Nancy Pelosi is a disaster, ok? She’s a disaster. Let her do what she wants, you know what? I think they’re in big trouble.”
Beating a Dead Horse
Thus far, the Russia investigation (and now Mueller’s follow up statements) continue to be used against the president. Democrats are still pushing to impeach Trump, something which no longer serves as a surprise.
However, the inability to let go of what is clearly over is going to hurt Democrats in the 2020 election. Instead of being a party of policies and ideas, Democrats have become the party of anti-Trumpism.
