Law enforcement is vital to keeping America safe and for holding the line against lawlessness and mayhem. Unfortunately, police remain under attack from the socialist left seeking to dismantle any semblance of law and order. America has seen this time and time again as left-wing communities push to revoke funding from police.
States like Florida and Georgia are thankfully taking direct action to counter the defund the police agenda. Earlier in the week, Florida awarded law enforcement officers with bonuses; meanwhile, Georgia outlawed the defunding of police just yesterday.
Sadly, the work to interfere with law enforcement still rages on. According to Washington Examiner, threats against members of Congress have increased by exactly 107%.
A Closer Look at Threats Against Congressmembers
Yesterday, the Capitol Police put out a press release about the unique situation they’re facing. As a body tasked with shielding congressional members from harm, Capitol Police are noting the immense rise of threats and hatred.
In the aforementioned press release, Capitol Police declared that the Threat Assessment segment of their work needs to mirror that of the U.S. Secret Service. Additional details reveal that more training, equipment, and staff are necessary for Capitol Police officers to do their jobs effectively.
Next week is National Police Week—a time to recognize the law enforcement officers who put lives on the line to keep us safe.
Not surprisingly, the party that voted to defund police won’t be allowing a single vote on any legislation that supports our men and women in uniform.

According to further remarks, cases regarding threat evaluations and countersurveillance are only expected to continue climbing in the foreseeable future. In light of the current climate, Capitol Police are now endorsing moving from a more “traditional department” to a protective agency.
This is a matter that Capitol Police inspector general Michael Bolton discussed last month when giving testimony regarding the insurrection on January 6.
Law and Order in America
The latest reports from Capitol Police regarding surging threats against members of Congress are all the more reason why law enforcement is necessary. It also goes to show why defunding the police in America will only engender chaos and anarchy.
Yesterday’s press release from the Capitol Police couldn’t be plainer; furthermore, it indicates the need for a stronger law enforcement presence, not the dismantlement of policing altogether.
Capitol Police are trying to block release of some (if not most) of its Jan 6 surveillance video from Capitol riots to defendants & media.
They say insurrectionists tried to get advance info about tunnels & layout .. .and police say releasing video could inform future attacks pic.twitter.com/dmqFui4dSB

At the end of the day, police, whether on Capitol Hill or in your everyday neighborhoods, are what contain the worst of the worst offenders.
