Left-leaning celebrities and public figures who despise President Trump have never hesitated to articulate their revulsion towards his promised border wall. However, in an interesting, ironic twist, it turns out that these celebrities have the biggest walls and barriers around their own homes, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Walls and Double Standards
Some of the celebrities who have been most outspoken and critical about the president’s immigration reform also have walls and barriers around their own homes. Many of these people consist of names which you are probably familiar with, such as Chelsea Handler, Jimmy Kimmel, Mark Hamill, Rob Reiner, Barbara Streisand, and so many others.
The question which Americans should be asking is why it’s OK for certain people to have walls to protect their own homes, yet no OK for the nation to have a wall to protect itself against illegal immigration. As usual, the left continues to expect to play by a different set of rules than everyone else.
Or, perhaps, they’re simply more interested in opposing any and every policy which is proposed by President Trump. The left are not members of the Democratic Party, but they are members of the anti-Trump party. This is why they continue to go further and further to the left. Sticking it to Trump is more important than supporting reform which will actually benefit the country.
The Southern Border
At this point in time, the government is set to shut down again within less than three weeks if a resolution is not reached for border wall funding. The president has more than expressed his willingness to provide certain things which Democrats want for immigration, in exchange for border wall funding. However, Democrats continue to reject President Trump and reaffirm their refusal to work with him on the wall in any capacity.
This refusal also comes as many of them go home to walls and barriers which safeguard them from outsiders.
