House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to come under more and more fire for her chosen method of dealing with impeachment proceedings.
After forcing through her sham, the House Speaker chose to hold onto the papers, rather than hand them over to the Senate for a trial. To make matters worse, Pelosi is now demanding that the Senate abide by her guidelines and agree to call forth certain witnesses before being given the papers.

Republican leaders haven’t hesitated to hold the Speaker accountable and remind her that she doesn’t have control over the Senate. However, new developments from Breitbart News confirm that now Senate Democrats are joining the ranks of folks who have grown tired of Pelosi’s games.
Earlier this week, liberal senators — along with one independent senator — urged the Speaker to turn over the impeachment articles at once so the trial can commence.
Why Senate Democrats Are Tired of the Games
Sens. Christopher Murphy, Doug Jones, Joe Manchin, and Angus King are ready for their chamber to begin the impeachment trial. When speaking with the Washington Post, the senators explained their belief that it’s time for Pelosi to submit the articles; Sen. King furthermore explained that, contrary to her beliefs, withholding the papers doesn’t give the Speaker any leverage over Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Sen. Jones shared a similar sentiment, stating that most senators are tired of the holdup and ready to get on with the trial. These remarks from Senate Democrats come after weeks of Pelosi’s delaying tactics and attempts to control the upper chamber. For some reason, the House Speaker still hasn’t come to terms with the reality that the Senate gets to determine how they hold a trial.
Bipartisan Opposition
Before Pelosi began her impeachment sham, she claimed that the process must be compelling and overwhelming with bipartisan support. As proven, however, the only bipartisan element of impeachment is the objection against it. Impeachment articles didn’t garner a single vote from GOP representatives; however, some Democrat representatives did break from the majority and vote against the sham.
As the House Speaker continues her delaying tactics, she’s engendered another bipartisan aspect of impeachment: opposition against her decision to hoard the articles. Republicans are more than sick of Pelosi’s attempts to control the Senate…and so are certain congressional Democrats.

The longer Pelosi continues these games, the more she will embarrass the Democrat Party. There’s no denying the reality that the House Speaker is playing politics and trying to be manipulative. Perhaps the loss of the House majority is the only way Pelosi and other Democrats will learn that weaponizing the impeachment process is not the proper way to govern.
