This week marked the beginning of the Senate’s impeachment trial for President Trump. Last year, Democrats managed to ram through their impeachment sham through the House and then sat on the articles for weeks. Only after the Senate repeatedly demanded a transfer of the articles and refused to allow Speaker Pelosi to dictate their actions did Democrats finally turn over the papers.

As the impeachment trial plays out, it appears as though many senators are bored with the process….including Sen. Bernie Sanders himself. Breitbart News reports that the socialist was seen yawning, tilting his head back, and otherwise engaging in additional, obvious behaviors which indicate boredom.
As a 2020 Democrat candidate and fierce hater of President Trump, Sanders has been extremely supportive of impeachment proceedings, stating that he will, in fact, vote to remove the president from office.
Sanders’ Conduct During the Senate Trial
Sanders, along with other members of the Senate, has apparently worked to overcome feelings of restlessness as the impeachment trial plays out. Throughout the process, various Congress members have spoken out, with Democrats continuing to force their hoax through yet another chamber.
The boredom of Sanders and his colleagues can be attributed to the talking points which Democrats repeatedly use to make their points. From accusing the president of betraying his oath of office, to branding Trump as a threat to the nation, leftist lawmakers are broken records at this point.
Throughout the trial on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sanders was seen blowing his nose, fidgeting, throwing dirty tissues on his desk, and eating mints. Other senators were observed seemingly napping while their colleagues jotted down notes, did crossword puzzles, consumed water, and even scowled at members of Trump’s legal counsel.
How Long Will the Trial Last?
Shortly before the Senate trial began, a source from the White House stated that the impeachment trial is unlikely to extend beyond two weeks.
The reality here is that the Democrats’ case is just as weak as it’s been from the beginning. There was no quid-pro-quo and no aid withheld. Democrats are running scared because they know removing Trump from office is the only way they don’t lose to him in 2020.

It speaks volumes that only days into the Senate trial has prompted the boredom and restlessness of so many lawmakers. However, this is what happens when the process of impeachment is weaponized for political purposes. The dangers of this trial not only deal with Democrats’ abuse of the impeachment process, but it also sets a dangerous precedent for future presidents, especially if the House majority conflicts with the party of future commanders-in-chief.
