For quite some time, the Democrat Party has evidenced their proclivities towards accepting illegal immigration. First, it began with claiming that individuals who unlawfully enter the country should be granted amnesty or a path to citizenship.
In 2019 alone, Democrats have considerably upped the ante, especially as their party regresses into radicalism. Many candidates running for office support providing free healthcare to illegal immigrants at the American taxpayers’ expense and decriminalizing unlawful entry into the states altogether.
Now, as unbelievable as this may seem, it gets even worse. There are Democrats serving in the United States Congress who don’t even want Americans to use the term “illegal immigrant.” According to House Rep. Rashida Tlaib, referring to someone as an illegal immigrant is “dehumanizing.” The congresswoman made this statement during a House Oversight Committee hearing, as documented by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Tlaib’s Statements on the “Dehumanizing” Term of ‘Illegal Immigrant’
While speaking before the House Oversight Committee on Friday, Tlaib discussed issues pertaining to the Southern border and detention centers which are housing migrants who illegally entered into America. The congresswoman then went on to assert that no individual is illegal; this is a common talking point used by progressives who support those who breach this nation’s immigration laws.
In Tlaib’s own words:
“First, no one is illegal. That term is derogatory now because it dehumanizes people. You can say any other forms of maybe ‘coming in without any regulations’ or so forth, but the use of ‘illegal’ is disrespectful and I ask my colleagues to try in so many ways to not dehumanize our immigrant neighbors who are trying to come in for safe haven.”
The Errors in Tlaib’s Logic
Yikes! Where to begin?
There are so many problematic aspects with Tlaib’s statements, namely the false claim that “no one is illegal.” By definition, when someone sneaks across the Southern border or otherwise enters the United States without going through the lawful immigration process, that is illegal. Migrants who do not follow the immigration laws are, in fact, illegal immigrants. This is not a tough concept to comprehend or come to terms with.
With the swift action being taken against illegal immigration, Tlaib’s antics are only the beginning. The enforcement of legal immigration is bound to bring out more twisted narratives and insanity from the left-wing.
