Following the 2020 presidential election, former President Trump put together a legal team. Members of this legal team alleged that Trump had the 2020 presidential election stolen from him by rigged systems.
Attorneys like Rudy Guiliani and Jenna Ellis also vowed to prove that Trump was the rightful winner of the election; however, this proof never materialized and Biden was sworn into office.
Many Americans have slammed the legal team for riling people up and making statements that were not true regarding the last White House race.
Now, former Vice President Mike Pence is weighing in on the matter, as documented by Breitbart News.
Pence on Trump’s Legal Team
During a town hall with CNN, the former vice president said the aides representing Trump in the aftermath of the 2020 election should have been completely banned from the White House premises.
According to Pence, he was “saddened” and “angered” by the destruction from January 6 protesters who battered and broke into the Capitol. Likewise, the former vice president said he was not pleased with Trump sending out a tweet that accused him of lacking courage.
“I must tell you the president’s words and tweet that day were reckless,” former VP Mike Pence says of January 6. “They endangered my family and all the people at the Capitol. And I was angry. Later, Pence told CNN that despite the claims from Trump and his election team, he personally does not think the 2020 race was rigged or fraudulent. Despite holding this view, Pence also said Trump was within his rights to litigate these claims.
The former vice president then stated that he let Trump know (after Trump litigated his claims of election fraud to no avail) he should accept the result of the 2020 presidential election.
Pence ultimately said this did not happen because other people with different views were in Trump’s ear.
More From Pence
In recent weeks, the former vice president has been more outspoken about various issues he has with Trump. Pence also made it more than clear that he believes the Republican Party will have better nominee choices than Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
For quite some time, the former vice president was relatively quiet about his relationship with Trump following the last White House race.
Former Vice President Pence said it was “a great honor for me to be a part of the Trump-Pence administration. … But in the end, our administration did not end well.”
