The double standard in which Republicans and Democrats are held to is no secret. When Democrats engage in scandals and corruption, the media finds any possible way to explain it away, regardless of the extremities. If a Republican so much as has a hint of impropriety associated with their conduct, the press absolutely crucifies them for it. Quite frankly, this double standard isn’t doing much to heal divisions in this country and a lot of folks are sick of it.
During a recent interview with Fox News‘ Sean Hannity, Vice President Mike Pence spoke about the media’s double standard. In this particular case, the double standard pertains to a phone conversation which President Trump had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Reports are alleging that Trump requested Zelensky to look into the activities of Hunter Biden, son of 2020 Democrat Joe Biden. The younger Biden currently serves as one of the board of directors for a Ukrainian gas company.

Earlier this month, a whistleblower came out and alleged that President Trump’s conversation with Zelensky involved threats of withholding funds from Ukraine unless Hunter Biden is investigated. Interestingly enough, the whistleblower is said to have zero “firsthand knowledge” of the specific remarks between Trump and Zelensky, meaning that all allegations are unconfirmed. Nevertheless, the media and Joe Biden alike have chosen to run with the claims and point the finger at Trump.
This is what prompted the following remarks from Vice President Pence.
“The ironic thing is is that everything that our critics in the media are leveling at the president from this phone call, and leveling at our administration, everything that Democrats on Capitol Hill are running off and describing — Vice President Joe Biden bragged about — which was a quid-pro-quo — withholding American aid in exchange for a specific action.”
Pence additionally noted that Americans deserve the full story of how Joe Biden and Hunter Biden have engaged with Ukrainian leaders. During the eldest Biden’s time as vice president, he once vowed to keep $1 billion dollars worth of loans from Ukraine if they declined to fire their leading prosecutor.
Of course, Joe Biden has chosen to leave out this part of the story as he rips President Trump on the campaign trails and calls for Trump to be “investigated.”
Biden’s Hidden Corruption
The allegations of the whistleblower, while intended to hurt President Trump, have majorly backfired on Joe Biden. Certain sources have already begun to speculate that these allegations could mean the end of Biden’s aspirations to become the next president.
Once again, this is a prime example of Democrats accusing Republicans of things which they themselves (Democrats) are guilty of. Biden once proudly bragged about essentially blackmailing Ukraine, yet he claims that President Trump deserves to be “investigated” for allegations which aren’t even confirmed.
That’s the Democrat Party in a nutshell.
