House Speaker Nancy Pelosi jumped the gun when she decided to move forward with an impeachment inquiry into President Trump. There are several important details which she apparently didn’t take into account. First, the whistleblower claims which Democrats are using to fuel their inquiry are bogus; this whistleblower didn’t even hear the conversation which they supposedly “blew the whistle on.”
Secondly, House Democrats have tried multiple times to vote on impeachment, yet they’ve failed to get the necessary votes. Then, there’s the Senate. The fact of the matter is that even if House Democrats were able to get enough votes to pass impeachment legislation onto the Senate, it would die there because two-thirds of a GOP-controlled Senate will never vote for the impeachment of President Trump.

Pelosi clearly didn’t think or care about these factors; now, she’s frustrated because President Trump will not “comply” with the impeachment inquiry.
As documented by Breitbart News, Pelosi received a letter from the White House stating that the Executive Branch won’t be engaging in the impeachment inquiry. The House Speaker responding in a blistering statement that accused the president of lawlessness and vowed to “hold him accountable.”
A Closer Look at the White House’s Letter to Pelosi and Her Response
The White House rightfully put Speaker Pelosi on notice regarding where things stand. Americans know that this impeachment inquiry is nothing short of another baseless witch hunt. It’s the Russia probe all over again. Democrats have been trying to impeach President Trump since he got elected and they’ve failed every time.
In the letter to the House Speaker, the White House notes that Pelosi’s inquiry “lacks any legitimate constitutional foundation, any pretense of fairness, or even the most elementary due process protections.” Additionally, the letter states that the president’s engagement in this inquiry would ultimately “inflict lasting institutional harm on the Executive Branch and lasting damage to the separation of powers.”
As you can imagine, Pelosi didn’t like that at all; therefore, in her public statement, she slammed the White House’s letter as “manifestly wrong” and accused the White House of seeking foreign aid in the 2020 presidential election.

“[This letter] is simply another unlawful attempt to hide the facts of the Trump Administration’s brazen efforts to pressure foreign powers to intervene in the 2020 elections. Despite the White House’s stonewalling, we see a growing body of evidence that shows that President Trump abused his office and violated his oath to ‘protect, preserve and defend the Constitution. Mr. President, you are not above the law. You will be held accountable.”
Facts vs. Pelosi
The House Speaker may claim that President Trump will be “held accountable,” but the facts are not on her side. There’s nothing for the president to be held accountable for; there’s also nothing wrong or inappropriate that happened during his conversation with the leader of Ukraine.

At this point, Pelosi and the Democrats are just embarrassing themselves. There was no quid-pro-quo; Trump says so, the president of Ukraine says so, reality says so. Democrats aren’t going to impeach Trump because they don’t have the votes in either the House or the Senate.
No matter what Nancy Pelosi says or does, and regardless of how many public statements she makes, she cannot unilaterally impeach the president.
