The impeachment inquiry which the Democrat Party chose to bring against President Trump last week is having some interesting repercussions. First, following House Speaker’s Tuesday announcement of the aforementioned inquiry, the Trump 2020 campaign and Republican National Committee (RNC) raised over five million dollars in less than 24 hours. Then, Democrats jumped for joy at the prospect of impeaching Trump only to gradually realize that Pelosi cannot unilaterally impeach the president.
Additional repercussions are beginning to manifest as well; more and more Americans are expressing their exasperation with Democrats’ repeated attempts to undo the 2016 presidential election. As such, there is talk about the Democrat Party actually losing their majority in the House of Representatives.
Interestingly enough, however, Pelosi doesn’t care if this happens. By the House Speaker’s own admission, she maintains that moving forward with the impeachment inquiry is worth the “political risk,” as documented by Breitbart News.
Why Doesn’t Pelosi Care if Democrats Lose the House?
It truly appears as though Speaker Pelosi has convinced herself that an impeachment inquiry into President Trump is warranted. If she hasn’t convinced herself of this, then she’s certainly done a fine job at leading the nation to believe that she has.
Yesterday, Pelosi spent time at the Tribune Fest; during this time, she was asked questions about the political ramifications if the impeachment inquiry backfires, particularly if the Democrat Party winds up losing the House of Representatives.
The House Speaker responded with the following statements:
“It doesn’t matter. Our first responsibility is to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. People say you have to take a political risk doing that. That doesn’t matter…because we cannot have a president of the United States undermining his oath of office, his loyalty to his oath of office, undermining our national security, and undermining the integrity of our elections!”
If Pelosi and the rest of the Democrat Party are willing to lose the House because of a bogus, unwarranted impeachment inquiry, so be it!
The Gradual Implosion of the Democrat Party
Make no bones about it: the Democrat Party will continue to gradually implode if they keep up their various witch hunts against the president. Americans have gotten sick of it and if the left thinks they’re going to walk away from this with a victory and with a disgraced Trump being impeached from office, they’ve reached peak levels of delusion.
The left isn’t doing themselves any favor by continuing to go after this president. The best thing Pelosi and the Democrats could do to help themselves at this point would be to drop this impeachment inquiry and begin working with Trump on matters which are important to the American people; but, as we all know, the left is bound and determined to remain on their current path, regardless of where it leads them.
