Pelosi Against Trump’s Access to Legal Counsel During Impeachment

As the Democrats’ impeachment sham continues to go up in flames, members of their party reach greater levels of desperation. First, they held onto impeachment papers in the hopes of manipulating the Senate. When this plan failed to render desired success, Democrat leaders were forced to hand over the papers; though it didn’t take long for them to concoct a new scheme.

Earlier this week, Jerry Nadler stood before the Senate body and contradicted himself for the umpteenth time. Nadler alleged that Democrats have an airtight case against the president…yet called for additional witnesses to further prove their point. This hasn’t really worked out too well for their left either, which is why they’ve now been reduced to attacking Trump’s attorneys.

On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi badmouthed the president’s legal counsel while speaking to the press. According to Breitbart News, the Speaker questioned how Trump’s aides can “retain their lawyer status” and continue representing him.

The Latest Attacks on Trump’s Lawyers

Pelosi didn’t hesitate to smear the “comments” that Trump’s lawyers made in his defense. According to the House Speaker, the president’s legal aides “disgraced” themselves and made statements that supposedly conflict with the values of the Founding Fathers, U.S. Constitution, and appropriate conduct for a president. Pelosi also claimed that President Trump’s attorneys have not made a solid case to prove his innocence.

Needless to say, Senate Republicans disagree with Pelosi and indeed maintain that Trump’s attorneys have made a solid case in the president’s defense. Moreover, the GOP Senate believes that acquittal of Trump is pretty much a given; nevertheless, the House Speaker claims otherwise. According to Pelosi, votes to acquit the president won’t be “valid” unless additional witnesses are permitted to testify.

What Pelosi is missing here is that she has no power in the Senate and therefore doesn’t reserve the right to micromanage how the Senate holds a trial.

The Real Reason Behind the Temper Tantrum

No matter what the House Speaker says on Twitter or before the press, she knows that the Senate will acquit Trump. She knew this from the very beginning which explains her decision to sit on impeachment articles for weeks. Hoarding the documents from the Senate didn’t work and so Pelosi was forced to hand them over with no concession.

There is talk of the Senate possibly acquitting President Trump as early as today. When the inevitable acquittal takes place, we can all count on Democrats questioning the legitimacy of the Senate trial. Moreover, Pelosi indicated that she and other leftists plan to take additional action against the president once he is acquitted.
