For awhile, the Democrat Party has been telling Americans that their push for gun control is not designed to adversely impact law-abiding citizens. The left previously claimed that they only wanted to enact stricter gun control measures for the sake of stopping criminals. Of course, this is a lie which conservatives didn’t fall for and rightfully so. The 2020 presidential election has prompted Democrats to drop the act and be forthcoming about their true agenda.
In the words of 2020 Democrat Beto O’Rourke, “hell yes, we’re gonna take your AR-15!” This is who the Democrats are and this has always been their agenda with gun control. Although, it would be difficult to take everyone’s AR when there are sites that show you how to build your own AR 15. Granted, the left is no longer lying about their agenda, but they are lying about the amount of support which they have. Breitbart News reports O’Rourke’s inane claim that Texas Americans are eager to turn their AR-15s over the government for the sake of gun control.
A Closer Look at O’Rourke’s Outrageous Claim
Of all the states which O’Rourke could lie about having support for Second Amendment infringements, it’s actually hysterical that he’d choose Texas. Despite O’Rourke’s wishes and fantasies, Texans are not, in fact, eager to hand over their rightful property to the United States government.
What the 2020 Democrat is suggesting is nothing short of mass confiscation and disarming the citizenry. History has proven that bad things tend to happen when the government starts seizing people’s guns. Despite this, O’Rourke is still trying to sell the lie that Americans are willingly offering to turn over their guns.
In his own words:
“Even from those Texans who own AR-15s, they’ve told me this themselves, ‘I don’t need this. I don’t need it to hunt, I don’t need it to protect myself. It was fun to use. I like taking it out to the range, but if giving this back, or cutting it to pieces, or selling it to the government helps to keep us safer, then by all means let’s do it.’
Exposing the Fallacy
There’s a major flaw in O’Rourke’s claims of what Texans told him; that flaw is the complete dependence upon left-wing talking points and dynamics when it comes to gun ownership. Democrats would like for gun owners to willingly give up their guns, but in reality, gun owners know that them turning over their property will not stop rouge criminals. Logically, it makes no sense. This is how Americans know that O’Rourke is completely full of it.
The Democrat Party has gone from lying about their gun control agenda, to openly expressing their interest in taking Americans’ guns, to now claiming that Americans are in favor of turning over their guns. Just when you think the Democrats can’t sink any lower, they manage to do so anyway.
