As many communities opted to defund the police and roll back bail laws, many people lived in fear for the lives of themselves and their families. This has naturally caused more people to turn towards self defense.
According to new developments from Red State, more and more people are opting to exercise their Second Amendment rights in this country.
Reviewing the Latest Data on Gun Ownership
From 2020 to 2022, almost 60 million new gun sales cleared. The rate of gun ownership has been steadily rising from where it was a few decades ago.
Moreover, it’s come to light that the most popular choice of a firearm is shifting to handguns. For awhile, folks were more inclined to buy rifles; however, handgun ownership comes with some unique advantages.

Handguns are easier to store or access quickly when one needs them. Also, conceal carrying a handgun poses far less trouble than trying to do the same with a rifle.
Finally, it’s also worth noting that the rise of gun ownership in recent years has been largely fueled by first-time gun buyers and women.
A Rejection of Gun Control
If this latest data proves anything, it’s that more and more Americans are rejecting the radical gun control agenda being pushed by the Democrat Party. When it comes down to it, much of the country doesn’t want to feel defenseless.

In another win for the Second Amendment, Florida also recently became the 26th state to pass constitutional carry law. This now means America is a nation in which the majority of states acknowledge the Second Amendment is not bound to the conditions of a state government permit.
