A recent poll reveals nearly three out of four Americans do not think President Joe Biden should pursue re-election, following his decision to announce his bid for a second term.
The survey from NBC News indicates 70% of Americans, including 51% of Democrats, do not support Biden running for re-election, while only 26% stand behind the president.
Almost Half Who Voted Against Biden Cite Age As Major Concern
Of those who voted against Biden’s re-election, almost half mentioned his age as their “major” concern – with 48% labeling it as a “major” worry, 21% considering it a minor concern, and 29% of respondents stating his age did not factor into their decision at all.

In February, 80-year-old Biden acknowledged that concerns regarding his age were “entirely legitimate” amidst increasing apprehension from both critics and supporters.
Biden stated, “It’s fair for people to present points about my age. It’s totally honest to do that and the only thing I can express is, watch me.”
Conversely, 60% of Americans reported they do not believe former President Donald Trump should run for president in 2024, with a mere 35% voting yes.

Pence, Haley, and Scott Trail Behind in Poll Results
These figures emerge a few weeks after Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to 2016 hush-money payments.
Approximately 68% of GOP primary voters concurred with the notion that the investigations into the former president are politically motivated.
If the presidential primary were held today, 46% of respondents indicated they would vote for Trump, while 31% chose Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. DeSantis has not yet announced his own presidential bid, but has been competing with Trump in the polls in recent months.
Former Vice President Mike Pence received 6% of the vote, followed by former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott.
The polling comes as more candidates are likely to enter the race.
