The mainstream media has been coming after Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis for quite some time; this is ultimately because the media is terrified of DeSantis. They’re scared of his popularity in Florida and the fact that there’s strong support for the Florida governor making a 2024 run for president.
Some of the latest attacks against DeSantis deal with the reality that he’s letting parents in Florida decide whether or not they want their kids to wear masks. This enrages leftist authoritarians like President Biden who wants to force every single child into a mask.
This week, alone, DeSantis has pushed back against uncalled for attacks from the 46th president. As Breitbart News reports, the mainstream media is now working to undermine DeSantis as he prepares to seek re-election as Florida’s governor.
The Mainstream Media vs. Governor DeSantis
Right now, the leftist mainstream media is hard at work to create the illusion that DeSantis is lacking support for his 2022 gubernatorial run. However, what some people might not remember is that the press pulled this same stunt back in 2018 when DeSantis was running against Andrew Gillum.
Right now, the media is showing a poll that has DeSantis one point behind Florida Democrat Charlie Crist. Crist previously served as the governor of Florida and also flipped from being a Republican to a Democrat.

All in all, the mainstream media will do anything to paint DeSantis and other popular Republican leaders in a negative light. The media fears DeSantis because he’s not a Democrat and because he’s willing to stand against tyrannical measures like shutdowns, mask mandates, business closures, etc.
What the Mainstream Media Will Never Admit
The mainstream media is working day and night to paint Ron DeSantis in a negative light. What they won’t ever admit, however, is the extent to which the Florida governor’s leadership has led to the expansion of the state’s economy.
Anywhere from hundreds to thousands of people per day are moving to Florida. This has to do with not just lower taxes, but also the style of leadership in the Sunshine State. Despite the insistence otherwise from the mainstream media, there is a strong demand for leadership like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’.

There’s a demand for leadership that does not entail restricting people, shutting them down, forcing masks on their faces, or ruining their businesses. There’s no doubt that the media is rooting for a Democrat to win the Florida gubernatorial election; however, all the signs indicate to DeSantis winning re-election come 2022.
