Largest Fentanyl Drug Bust In History – Enough To Kill Over 50 Million People

Days ago, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents managed to confiscate enough fentanyl to kill over 50 million individuals. As you may have guessed, the individuals who attempted to transport these drugs into the United States were also trying to smuggle them in via truck, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation.

A Closer Look at the Fentanyl Drug Bust

The attempt to bring such fatal and dangerous drugs into the United States occurred at an Arizona port of entry at the Southern border. As previously stated, a truck was used to transport the fentanyl; at this time, the bust is being referred to as the biggest in history, due to the amount of fentanyl which was seized. Had the smugglers succeeded in their venture to transport this drug in the United States, they would have enough fentanyl to take out more than 50 million people.
Vaughn provided some public statements about the situation:

“They found this under the floor of the trailer. They found 114 kilograms of fentanyl. According to the DEA, just two milligrams is considered a lethal dose. They also grabbed 179 kg of methamphetamine and one gram of fentanyl in pill form. The street value for the fentanyl over $102 million.”

Additionally, Vaughn shared some information about the arrest of the smuggler:

“The CBP officers arrested the smuggler, a Mexican national who attempted to drive the drugs across the border. The suspect was a part of the DHS’s trusted traveler program called FAST, that stands for free and secure trade for commercial vehicles. The program started after 9/11.”

The Need for Border Security

This most recent massive drug bust is a prime example as to why President Trump is so insistent upon securing our Southern border. What if CBP agents hadn’t caught the smuggler who was attempting to bring fentanyl into America? We have a lot of issues happening at our border and, at this point, if Democrats continue to stick their heads in the sand and act like everything’s all square, then they are accomplices to these crimes.
