On Sunday, Democrat Sen. and 2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris took to the campaign trails in Iowa. During her time amongst supporters, she expressed what she views as important for winning the upcoming election, as documented by The Daily Caller News Foundation.
What Does Kamala Harris Think America Needs?
According to Harris herself, America needs a president who has the ability to successfully prosecute Trump. This is what she pitched to the Iowans who came to hear her speak yesterday.
In her own words:
“We’re gonna need a fighter, and we’re going to need somebody who knows how to prosecute the case against this president.”
Of course, this remark was met with a standing ovation from the leftists who support Harris. However, if the senator has any hope of getting past the primaries, then she’s not going to be able to use ‘take-down-Trump’ as a viable path. Harris is going to have to appeal to more than just hardcore leftists and Democrats. This will inevitably mean getting some votes from the right side of the aisle.
Thus far, Harris is a ways away from being a candidate who can appeal to Americans across the aisle. She’s already openly declared her desire to do away with private healthcare entirely. That would adversely impact the lives of millions of Americans, but Harris doesn’t seem to care.
It will definitely be interesting to see whether or not Harris emerges as the Democratic nominee to officially take on President Trump in 2020.
