At this point, America has reached a crossroads when it comes to liberals and the policies which they advocate for. Because of this, it may be time for this country to essentially break up with liberals and the socialist agenda which they champion, as noted by Townhall.
The Case for Breaking up with Liberals
Throughout the presidency of Donald Trump, liberals have become increasingly more radical and unhinged. Some of their most ridiculous policies include the Green New Deal, socialized healthcare, the eradication of private healthcare, a 70% tax on the wealthy, etc. The truth of the matter is that the policies which the left has decided to throw their support behind are not compatible with American values.
In order for America to thrive as a nation, we need to be united. This doesn’t mean that we can’t have disagreements on various policy issues. However, it does mean that we can’t have any party calling for policies which would turn this nation upside down and eliminate critical parts of who we are, such as freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
If the left is serious about the progression of this nation as a whole, then there are some changes which they need to make. First and foremost, they need to reign in their more extreme policies. There is no way that reconstructing every building in the United States, eliminating air travel, gas-fueled cars, and providing economic aid to individuals who are “unwilling” to work is feasible, yet this is part of the Green New Deal which the liberals love so much.
Furthermore, the left needs to stop referring to each and every person who disagrees with their policies as racist. This has become a tired, played out buzzword which has lost its value. Wanting to keep the fruit of one’s own labor is not racist, nor is capitalism or legal immigration.
