As the 2020 presidential election gets closer and closer, the left-wing is doing all they can to prevent President Trump from winning a second term.
Townhall reports that Washington state is now following the cue of New Jersey by working to prevent the president’s name from appearing on the 2020 ballot.
Everything You Need to Know
If there’s one thing the left is definitely skilled at, it’s employing underhanded tactics in order to fulfill their goals. On Tuesday, Senate Democrats approved a piece of legislation which would mandate President Trump to provide up to five years of his tax returns before his name could be on certain ballots in the primary and general election.
Patty Kuderer, a Democratic senator, behind the legislation, delivered the following remarks in Congress last week:
“Although releasing tax returns has been the norm for about the last 40 years in presidential elections, unfortunately, we’ve seen that norm broken.”
Since the legislation succeeded in the Senate, it will now require approval from the House of Representatives.
The True Agenda
At the end of the day, Democrats do not truly care about the president’s tax returns. Instead, they’re simply using tax returns as a ploy to block Trump from appearing on certain ballots. This all boils down to the 2020 election, and the last thing the left-wing wants is a second term of President Trump.
Democrats have been after Trump ever since he announced his decision to run for office. Throughout his campaign, the left claimed that Trump hated immigrants and harbored racist ideologies. When these mistruths failed to tank Trump’s campaign, Democrats then claimed that the president colluded with the Russian government.
Since the phony narrative of Russian collusion failed to hold water after nearly two years of Mueller’s investigation, Democrats are back to the tax returns. This game has gotten to be tiresome. More and more Americans are waking up to what the left-wing is really all about.
