ICE Now Barred from Making Courthouse Arrests Under Biden Administration

The poor judgement of President Biden and his administration has real world consequences.

America’s Southern border crisis is merely one of several examples. By repealing the policies that kept the border under control, Biden subsequently created a nightmare. This nightmare engendered overrun border facilities, an influx of arriving migrants, drug cartels, human traffickers, etc.

Under the Biden administration, law enforcement agencies like Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) are now barred from doing their jobs.

New reports from The Blaze also confirm that the Biden administration has stopped ICE from arresting migrants in breach of the law at U.S. courthouses.

What the Biden Administration’s Interference Means for ICE and Illegal Immigration

According to Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), courthouse arrests of migrants are no longer permitted. Mayorkas claimed that these arrests engendered a “chilling” impact on illegal immigrants who fear interactions with police due to potential deportations.

There are several problems with this narrative, though. For starters, the migrants taken into custody at American courthouses were ones with ties to significant crimes. Examples of said crimes include re-entering the U.S. after deportation, involvement with gangs, breaches of existing deportation orders, etc.

Under the Biden administration, ICE is only permitted to arrest illegal immigrants under very particular circumstances. These circumstances include death risks, national security threats, etc. Moreover, DHS has made clear that ICE must obtain “prior approval” before conducting arrests at U.S. courthouses.

A Public Safety Threat to Americans

Each time the Biden administration stops ICE or Border Patrol from doing their jobs, public safety is put at risk.

Organizations such as ICE and Border Patrol exist for a reason; as such, blocking them from doing their jobs impedes upon the general safety of the country. The Trump administration grasped this; yet, the Biden administration appears as oblivious as ever.

Thanks to Biden’s immigration policies, drug cartels are arriving at the Southern Border. The federal government also won’t act to get this crisis under control; therefore, Arizona, Texas, and other states at the border are forced to take on the job.

Ultimately, the Biden administration will not make any changes unless obligated to do so.
