In sticking to the typical Democratic fashion, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not abiding by the rules which she expects others to follow.
According to Ocasio-Cortez, fossil fuel use is dangerous and hazardous to the planet Earth. Interestingly enough, this is not enough to stop her from consuming fossil fuel when it best suits her.
The Hypocrisy of Ocasio-Cortez
In a nutshell, Ocasio-Cortez’s Congressional campaign spent thousands of dollars on rideshare services and MetroCard purchases while refusing to recycle. This comes despite the newly elected congresswoman’s preachings about the horrors of emissions and waste. There is also video evidence of Ocasio-Cortez throwing out items which could be recycled.
When it’s all said and done, the actions of Ocasio-Cortez are not that far off from most Democrats. They urge Americans to do one thing while engaging in behavior which is totally contradictory. If Ocasio-Cortez truly believed that fossil fuel consumption is dangerous, if she truly believed in what the Green New Deal proposes, then she would be more than happy to abide by the very rules which she’s proposing for the rest of the country to follow.
The Bottom Line
At this point, nobody should really be shocked by the conduct of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. It’s a living testament to the unrealistic and preposterous nature of the Green New Deal. If the people who support the Green New Deal can’t even abide by its mandates, why should the American people be expected to do so either?
