Since assuming their majority in the House of Representatives, Democrats have already begun making moves. One of their moves includes attempting to take down first son Donald Trump Jr., according to The Daily Caller News Foundation.
A Closer Look at the Democrats’ Strategy
At this time, Democrats are planning to order Donald Trump Jr. to testify before the House Intelligence Committee this year. Democrat Rep. Jackie Speier has also indirectly stated that she believed Trump Jr. was not truthful during an earlier testimony before the committee. However, Speier declined to go into further details; according to her press secretary, Speier cannot provide additional information to assert her claims conveniently happens to be “classified.”
In November 2018, the eldest Trump son testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about a Trump Tower meeting with himself, Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner and a Russian lawyer. Donald Trump Jr. has repeatedly professed his innocence and stated that he’s not concerned about the investigations which are currently underway.
“I know what I did, and I’m not worried about any of that. That doesn’t mean they won’t try to create something. I mean, we’ve seen that happen with everything. But, again, I’m not.”
The Targeting of Conservatives
At this point, the actions of the Democrats should come as a shock to no one. Since the election of President Trump, the Democrats have more than revealed their true colors. The left has shown their penchant for going after anyone who fails to support their policies or agree with them. Since the inception of Trump’s time in office, the Democrats have endlessly talked about impeachment and removing him from office.
Now that going after the president has proven to be an unsuccessful venture time and time again, the Democrats are honing in on Donald Trump Jr. Speier’s assertion that Trump Jr. lied during his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee directly ties in with Mueller’s Russia investigation. The special counsel’s probe has remained ongoing for nearly two years and wasted millions of taxpayer dollars.
It will be interesting to see the new stunts which Democrats attempt to pull now that they’ve got the House of Representatives under their control.
