Harris in the Hot Seat Over Southern Border Crisis

The Southern border crisis is not an issue that simply going to vanish away. No matter how much the Democrat Party tries to ignore or downplay what is going on at the border, Americans aren’t fooled.

The present border crisis is one that Biden himself facilitated by shutting down the immigration policies that President Trump had in place. By doing this, Biden opened the floodgates to drugs, cartels, and hoards of migrants.

Back in March, the president put Vice President Kamala Harris at the head of handling the crisis at the border. Harris hasn’t made much progress yet; although, her recent trips to Guatemala and Mexico have only stirred up more conversations regarding her role in fixing the Southern border, as Newsmax confirms.

The Latest on Harris and the Southern Border Crisis

When the vice president sat down for an interview with NBC News’ Lester Holt, things got pretty interesting. Harris faced questioning about the border and the lack of visits made to the border; the vice president then responded by declaring “we’ve been to the border” multiple times.

Holt then pushed back, pointing out that Harris herself has not gone down to the border. The vice president then told the news anchor she didn’t quite grasp what point he was attempting to make.

The White House on Tuesday weighed in on this interview, following questions from the media. According to press secretary Jen Psaki, there is a possibility that Harris “may” personally go down to the Southern border for a visit.

Needless to say, many Americans were not pleased with the content of the vice president’s latest interview or her lack of action on the border crisis.

No Action Plan

At this point, many Americans are convinced that the vice president and the Biden administration at large lack a plan to fix the border crisis.

GOP Sen. Ted Cruz weighed in on this yesterday. According to the Texas lawmaker, the vice president’s choice to not visit the border herself is rooted in the knowledge that reporters will go down with her, thus allowing the American people a candid look at the border crisis.

The vice president, for her part, maintains that dealing with “root causes” of the current migration is a priority; however, this still doesn’t answer, for many Americans, why Harris has not personally gone down to the Southern border.

On Tuesday, Sen. Cruz warned that the Biden administration knows the border crisis will only continue to worsen.
