As the American people are fully aware of, Democrats and socialists are always harping on about taxes. They want to increase taxes; they want the wealthy to “pay their fair share” in taxes, and yet it turns out that this is another area where leftists have been exposed as the massive hypocrites that they are.
Newly elected congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez currently owes a whopping $1,877.56 in corporate back taxes, according to Townhall. Since Ocasio-Cortez’s time in the political limelight, she’s called for shocking tax increases as high as 70%.
Perhaps the congresswoman should focus on paying her own taxes first.

Ocasio-Cortez’s now-defunct business Brook Avenue Press is what generated the back taxes which she owes to the government. She started the business 2012 with the purpose of publishing books about children who reside in inner cities.
What’s interesting about this is that starting a business is inherently capitalistic. When you become a business owner, you’re selling your services and earning a profit from the fruits of your labor. It gets even more fascinating because when Brook Avenue Press was functional, Ocasio-Cortez actually called for lower taxes. This is a stark contrast from the congresswoman who is now supportive of hiking taxes on the wealthy, many of whom are business owners, to as high as 70%.
One of Ocasio-Cortez’s congressional staffers has stated that she will pay the taxes which she owes to the government. When this will happen precisely is currently unknown; however, this hasn’t stopped Ocasio-Cortez and other Democrats from calling for higher taxes.
Trickle Down Taxes
For a party which claims to loathe trickle-down economics, Democrats sure love trickle-down taxes. After the revelation about Ocasio-Cortez, it’ll be fascinating to see how many other leftists owe back taxes to the government while simultaneously calling to increase the taxes of others.
“Do as I say, not as I do” is the Democrat mantra.
