This week marks the upcoming beginning of the Senate’s impeachment trial.
To be clear, the trial is set to commence as early as tomorrow and could possibly go on for weeks. Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Congressional Democrat leaders were forced to hand over impeachment articles; this occurred after Pelosi spent nearly one month attempting to gain leverage over the Senate by hoarding the impeachment papers. Needless to say, the House Speaker’s strategy failed and she didn’t get a single concession from the Senate.

It goes without saying that liberal and conservative senators share very different outlooks on this impeachment trial for the most part. However, since the Senate is presently under a GOP majority, the president’s acquittal is inevitable.
On Sunday, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham appeared on Fox News and shares some insight into the upcoming trial and Speaker Pelosi, per reports from The Daily Caller News Foundation.
Graham on Pelosi and the Impeachment Trial
When speaking with Fox’s Chris Wallace, Graham noted that while he likes Pelosi and has known her for years, she “orchestrated the [impeachment] trial of holy hell.” The GOP senator continued, explaining that while Pelosi may, in fact, pray for President Trump, the Speaker went about impeachment proceedings incorrectly and must now live with that.
Graham furthermore held Pelosi to task for dragging out proceedings over a 48-day period and refusing to allow Trump to call forth witnesses or have an attorney at the House Intel Committee. Therefore, the senator stated that Pelosi’s demands for fairness in the Senate are hypocritical in light of the unjust and “partisan railroad job” which Democrats forced through their majority chamber.
Finally, Lindsey Graham wrapped up his interview on Fox News with a warning that Democrats set a dangerous precedent of “political revenge.”
The Absence of Fairness
As the Senate prepares to conduct their trial, leftist lawmakers are increasingly more fearful. They know they’ll lose in the chamber where they lack majority control; this is why Speaker Pelosi did all she could to try gaining leverage over the Senate. In the end, however, she handed over impeachment articles with nothing to show for weeks of delays.

If Democrats were truly concerned about fairness, they would have acted accordingly in the House. Instead, they rammed through their sham impeachment and ignored wishes and feedback from the GOP minority. Now that the tables of control are turned in the Senate, Democrats want to insist upon their version of fairness.
Too little, too late.
