At the GLAAD Awards, Vanessa Williams, a performer and judge on Paramount+’s drag singing competition Queens of the Universe, expressed her sympathy for the drag queen community.
Williams presented the award for Best Documentary and announced her solidarity with the LGBTQ community at the ceremony. She also came out against politicians, media, and anybody else attempting to relegate gay people to the closet.
“Not Murderers”
Williams praised the drag queen community in her appearance with Billboard, stressing that they are not killers. She discussed the satisfaction of assessing drag queens on the program and the camaraderie it fosters.

The popularity of drag shows has increased, particularly among youngsters in the audience. Nevertheless, after recordings of males replicating stripper movements at “all-ages” drag shows went viral, legislators in a number of states sought to prohibit these acts in front of children.

In the wake of the deadly massacre, a number of Democrats have uploaded images of armed “anti-trans” citizens.
Katie Hobbs, the governor of Arizona, had to fire her press secretary after the aide uploaded a gif of a woman brandishing a weapon with the message “When we meet transphobes.”
Democratic Wyoming House Minority Whip Karlee Provenza uploaded a meme depicting a woman carrying a pistol with the message “Protect trans people against fascists and bigots!”
