Florida is one of several red states to take a balanced and measured approach to handle coronavirus. Rather than enacting stringent, harsh restrictions upon individuals, Florida balanced the need to contain the virus with the importance of individual liberties.
Now, the Sunshine State has fewer cases per capita than lockdown zones like Michigan. This — along with other data — proves that almighty mask mandates and lockdowns are not the answers.
On Monday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed executive orders and new bills that officially put Florida in the category of “back to normal,” as reported by Breitbart News.
Freedom in the Sunshine State
Yesterday, Governor DeSantis signed an executive order officially shutting down coronavirus restrictions statewide. The Republican governor noted the progress in Florida’s vaccine distribution, especially the fact that more seniors than ever are immunized against coronavirus.
This executive order is just one part of the changes that came to Florida on Monday. DeSantis additionally signed bills that prohibit the use of vaccine passports in Florida; this applies to both government entities and private businesses.
I was proud to sign landmark legislation & 2 executive orders to protect individual liberties. SB 2006:
✔️Bans Vaccine Passports
✔️Prohibits Indefinite Lockdowns
✔️Ends Local Restrictions on Small Businesses
✔️Bolsters Emergency Preparedness for Future Public Health Emergencies pic.twitter.com/R2YpxZJd8i— Ron DeSantis (@GovRonDeSantis) May 3, 2021
The Florida governor explained that demanding residents to show private health information to engage in society is unacceptable. It’s important to note that Florida is the only state in America with laws on the books banning the government and private sector from requiring vaccine passports.
Additional bills signed by Governor DeSantis bar indefinite shutdowns and restrictions on Florida’s small businesses. Furthermore, the Sunshine State will have greater emergency preparation for future health crises, thanks to legislation signed by the Florida government.
What Americans Think About an Open Florida
The reactions to bills and executive orders signed by Governor DeSantis yesterday are deeply aligned with partisanship.
For instance, conservatives have given the Florida governor accolades for his chosen methods of leadership in the Sunshine State; meanwhile, leftists are irate that Florida is an open state, free from government control and vaccine passports.
Thrilled to sign legislation that prohibits COVID-19 vaccine passports in Florida. Neither government, nor private businesses, will be able to condition your participation in everyday life on producing private health information. https://t.co/0NMBk1l9zI

Florida-based data has shown that hundreds of people per day are moving to the Sunshine State. Despite the seething bitterness from the left, there is a reason why so many people are fleeing states like New York and California and moving to areas like Florida.
