As Democrats continue to push for the impeachment of President Trump and differnt extensions of the Russia investigation, it’s beginning to raise questions about the origins of various probes.
More specifically, there are now issues pertaining to whether or not certain organizations actively worked to sabotage then-candidate Trump’s chances of becoming president, as documented by Fox News.
What Does President Trump Think?
During an interview with ABC News’ This Week, the president shared his ideas on whether or not Obama had knowledge regarding moves to sabotage Trump in 2016. President Trump stated that his predecessor’s awareness of these events is extremely likely, due to the roles which various higher-ups played in the operation.
In Trump’s own words:
“I would say that [Obama] certainly must have known about it because it went very high up in the chain, but, you’re gonna find that out. I’m not gonna make that statement quite yet, but I would say that President Obama had to know about it.”
During the 2016 presidential election, then-candidate Trump also expressed concerns about his buildings being wiretapped by then-President Obama. At the time, liberals largely denounced the notion of surveillance, but as talks about investigations go on, there are new questions about what even prompted the Russia investigation to begin with.
Perhaps, Democrats are beginning to wish that they hadn’t opened this can of worms after all.
Reviewing the Origins
Ultimately, only time will tell precisely what happened to initiate the Russia investigation and subsequent probes. Americans will also learn whether or not Obama knew of these origins or played any role in spying on the Trump campaign. Politics can be a very dirty, underhanded world and contrary to what Democrats may say or like to believe, they are far from innocent.
