In many regards, the 2024 presidential election is a make-or-break for conservatives. Whether or not the White House stays controlled by Democrats or goes back to Republicans will have serious ramifications on the nation.
Right now, the White House controlled by Democrats is in a chaotic state. The White House is actively blaming former President Trump for an inflation crisis created by Biden; likewise, the Biden administration is refusing to acknowledge that excessive spending and regulations are having devastating impacts on this nation.
Right now, Republicans are in a very good position to take control of the House of Representatives. This could pave the way to a 2024 GOP presidential victory; however, the candidate nominated by the Republican Party will make a huge difference.
According to Newsmax, a recent poll shows Florida Governor Ron DeSantis leading in a list of hypothetical Republican contenders for the 2024 presidential election; DeSantis’ lead maintains even against former President Trump.
DeSantis for President in 2024?
Over the weekend, the Western Conservative Summit ran a straw poll of preferred GOP candidates in the 2024 presidential election. The polls findings were very interesting and indicative of certain changes happening in conservative politics.
Top Five:
Ron DeSantis (74%),
Donald Trump (71%)
Sen. Ted Cruz (43%)
Mike Pompeo (39%)
Sen. Tim Scott (36%).— Philip Melanchthon Wegmann (@PhilipWegmann) June 20, 2021
DeSantis dominated the straw poll at 74.12%; Trump, meanwhile, followed up with 71.43%. Other candidates to make the Western Conservative Summit poll include Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and others.
As evidenced by the Western Conservative Summit straw poll, many Americans would like to see the Florida governor run for office. DeSantis’ leadership in the Sunshine State continues to significantly raise his status within the Republican Party; many conservatives therefore believe that America would thrive with DeSantis’ leadership at the federal level.

This weekend’s straw poll marks the very first time that DeSantis has led Trump in a hypothetical 2024 election. Previously, the 45th president remained in the lead, with DeSantis running up right behind him.
The Possibility of a DeSantis Presidential Run
Amid the newest developments from the Western Conservative Summit, more Americans than ever are eager to know whether or not the Florida governor will run for president in 2024.
Earlier this month, DeSantis responded to talks of a presidential run during an interview. The Florida governor maintains that at this time, his focus lies on delivering for the residents of the Sunshine State. DeSantis also made clear that much is going on in Florida, hence that demands his attention.
