DeSantis Isn’t Backing Down From Having Migrants Sent to Martha’s Vineyard

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues to make headlines. Currently, DeSantis is drawing nationwide attention for having illegal immigrants dispatched to Martha’s Vineyard.

This is one of many left-wing communities to pride themselves on being loving and tolerant. Though when actually faced with migrants in their communities, liberal sanctuary cities have changed their tune.

Within two days of migrants arriving in Martha’s Vineyard, the community had them removed, courtesy of the National Guard. In Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot also had migrants dispatched out of the community, despite priding herself on leading a sanctuary city.

Notwithstanding the backlash from the political left, however, DeSantis isn’t backing down, as documented by NPR.

DeSantis on Sending Migrants to Martha’s Vineyard

The Florida governor spoke out after the Bexar County, Texas sheriff declared he’d be moving ahead with a criminal investigation of migrants’ arrivals in Martha’s Vineyard.

To this end, DeSantis told Fox News that there’s been absolutely no outrage from Democrats over migrants dying while trying to unlawfully enter the United States.

DeSantis furthermore pointed out that Democrats are virtue signaling and now trying to change the narrative where they once proclaimed themselves to be welcoming to all folks.

The Florida governor even released a formal statement, expressing that migrants have been more than willing to take free transportation to places like Martha’s Vineyard.

This statement from DeSantis’ office also went on to note that migrants who were transported to Martha’s Vineyard were provided with clothes and other resources, unlike others who lost their lives while trying to enter America.

In additional remarks, DeSantis has also been clear he’s not backing down and will continue to help migrants who illegally enter the United States find transportation to cities that profess to be welcoming to all persons.

An Overreaction From Democrats

DeSantis and other Republican governors are not the only ones to transport illegal immigrants to different cities. Joe Biden has done this on numerous occasions; not once did any sheriffs claim they’d be opening investigations into him.

DeSantis has exposed the double standards and hypocrisy on the left, amid giving migrants transportation to Martha’s Vineyard. When Democrats didn’t have to face the music on illegal immigration in their own communities, they didn’t care.

The only reason DeSantis is taking such heat now is that Democrats were not serious when they spoke about the sanctity of sanctuary cities.

If the left truly believed its own talking points, they’d be thanking Republican governors for bringing migrants to their communities, not having these migrants transferred out and accusing GOP governors of human trafficking.
