Democrats at War with One Another Amidst 2020 Election

As the 2020 presidential election gets closer and closer, infighting within the Democrat Party continues to get more apparent.
On Sunday, Democrat candidate and socialist Bernie Sanders criticized specific liberal think tanks and other “corporate” Democrats for undermining what he views as more progressive candidates (such as himself), reports The Blaze.

Reviewing Sanders’ Issues with “Corporate” Democrats

Over the past weekend, Sanders made the case that the Center for American Progress, a liberal think tank, is purposefully questioning the credibility of candidates such as himself, Elizabeth Warren and others. Sanders expressed these concerns in a letter which was published by The New York Times.
An excerpt of Sanders’ concerns reads as follows:

“Last week, you published an article on ThinkProgress criticizing me for my appearance and for the income I earned from writing a book. Then, a day later, you published a video that dishonestly attacked me for hypocrisy in my effort to address income inequality in America – a video that was excitedly discussed on many conservative websites. Center for American Progress leader Neera Tanden repeatedly calls for unity while simultaneously maligning my staff and supporters and belittling progressive ideas.”

This is quite interesting because Sanders had similar issues with his own party back when he attempted to run for president in 2016. Additional infighting has taken place within the Democrat Party, largely prompted by the reckless and loose-lipped comments made by freshmen congresswomen, such as Ilhan Omar and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

2020 Democrats vs. Trump

Over the past few weeks and months, Democrats have spent a lot of time going after President Trump. Perhaps their time would be better served focusing on the issues which plight their own party. Calls for socialized healthcare, radical support of reparations and congress members who openly dismiss the carnage of 9/11 are only the tip of the iceberg of issues amongst the Democrats.
It will definitely be interesting to see how they fare in the 2020 presidential election.
