California has a lot of problems these days. Right now, it’s been hemorrhaging residents amid rising homelessness, growing crime, and a decline in affordability.
Meanwhile, California Gov. Gavin Newsom appears more focused on picking fights with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, instead of getting his own state in order.
One factor that’s working against California is the reality that it’s heavily controlled by Democrats. As a matter of fact, in this state, Republicans are outnumbered by Democrats at a nearly two-to-one ratio.
Now, yet another move made by the Golden State has the potential to be a serious can of worms, according to the Gateway Pundit.
A Snitch Hotline?
In California, Newsom and other state leaders have brought forward a “snitch hotline.” This hotline exists for the express purpose of residents reporting others who engage in so-called “hate acts.”
Though the hate acts are not limited to violent acts or crimes. Instead, the hotline is also a place where Californians can report one another for making choices that one may perceive as motivated by bias.

In other words, it’s extremely open to interpretation. This means that virtually anyone can be reported to the state via the snitch hotline, even if they’re not acting out of malice, bias, etc.
According to Newsom, this new hotline is California’s way of saying it won’t stand for hatred.
This Sounds Familiar
No matter how Newsom or other Democrats try to dress up this hotline, it’s been repeatedly compared to fascist regimes in which citizens were encouraged to turn on one another.
On social media, critics are likening California’s snitch hotline to East Germany’s past secret police that wreaked havoc in the lives of various innocent people.

Meanwhile, Newsom and other Democrats leading California haven’t announced clear-cut measures to crack down on homelessness, crime, or other real problems in the state.
