Attorney General William Barr has openly expressed his interest in learning whether or not abuse of power occurred during the Russia investigation, documents The Daily Caller News Foundation.
As you might have guessed, Democrats aren’t too happy about this, seeing as they were the leading champions of the Russia probe and still won’t let it go, even to this very day.
Reviewing Potential Abuse of Power
Barr shared his statements on this matter during an appearance on America’s Newsroom.
In his own words:
“People have to find out what the government was doing during that period. If we’re worried about foreign influence, for the very same reason we should be worried about whether government officials abused their power and put their thumb on the scale. I’m not saying that happened, but it’s something we have to look at.”
FOX NEWS: You said back in April that you thought there was spying going on in the Trump campaign. When do you think that started?

Thus far, the attorney general has appointed lawyer John Durham to ascertain what caused the Justice Department and FBI to initiate the Russia investigation.
Reactions from the Democrats
The truth of the matter is that Democrats have had it in for Bill Barr from the beginning. Needless to say, they’re not at all thrilled about the probe into why the Russia investigation began in the first place. It makes sense though; Democrats started this probe simply because they couldn’t stand President Trump beating Hillary Clinton in 2016. Mueller’s investigation was the last-ditch attempt to deny Trump’s victory.
There may be many more sinister reasons why the Russia probe started and, as Barr stated, this should be investigated. Democrats are now accusing the attorney general of viewing himself as President Trump’s personal legal counsel. Only time will tell where this all leads and what new discoveries are made as a result.
