Biden’s 2024 Comments Amended By the White House

The last time Americans heard from Joe Biden about the 2024 presidential election was during his 60 Minutes interview. This was when the president pivoted from his previous remarks and claimed that he hadn’t made a firm decision about whether to run for another term.

Biden said it was too early to make a determination, despite previously asserting that he would absolutely be running for president again.

Weeks after this interview, reports came out that Biden told Democratic activist Al Sharpton that he’s certainly going to run for reelection. Now, the White House is once again coming out to clarify where the president stands on the 2024 White House race, per The Hill.

The White House on Biden’s 2024 Plans

This week, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was questioned on whether Biden actually did inform Sharpton that he’ll be trying for a second term.

To this end, Jean-Pierre simply stated Biden does intend to run in the next presidential election cycle.

The White House press secretary also claimed that the Hatch Act, which prohibits executive branch workers from political activism, limits what she can legally say about this matter.

Despite the latest claims from the White House this week, Biden’s 60 Minutes interview back in September was far from a definitive confirmation that he intends to run for office again.

In fact, the interview was widely speculated as Biden laying the framework to give himself an out from seeking reelection when the time comes.

Questionable at Best

The notion that Biden’s going to be actively pursuing reelection when the next presidential election season arrives is one that many Americans struggle with.

There have been so many scandals and setbacks associated with the Biden presidency. Biden’s likewise failed to live up to vital campaign promises, such as being a president that unifies the country.

With the midterms coming up, Biden’s actually been fearmongering about Republicans and about what the country will look if GOP members succeed in taking back the House and/or the Senate.

Some of the president’s latest remarks about conservatives have come under fire from certain members of the corporate media.

Even these folks are able to see that trashing “MAGA Republicans” works against Biden’s previous commitment to stand for all Americans and root out political division.

If Biden does actually follow through with talk of running in 2024, candidates in the primary and general elections will have a lot of ammunition to use against him.
