The Democrat Party fully owns the “Defund the Police” movement. Since 2020, Democrats decided that cutting capital for various police departments across the country would be a good idea.
The end result of this has been massive rises in homicides, rapes, robberies, carjackings, and other offenses. Cities with defunded police departments are breaking records of crimes committed like never before.
Last year, the White House tried to pivot away from political backlash over this by pinning the movement to defund law enforcement on Republicans. It didn’t work, though; all this served to do is expose just how poorly Democrats have failed in their vendetta against law enforcement.
When Biden visited the crime-ridden New York City yesterday, he specifically sought to distance himself from his party’s “Defund the Police” agenda, as Newsmax covers.
Biden on Defunding the Police
On Thursday, the president took a trip to New York City. The purpose of this trip was to meet with Democrat Mayor Eric Adams over the plight of gun violence in the community. This meeting came after the killings of multiple police officers in New York City.
While speaking publicly, Biden made it a point to declare that communities and law enforcement must unite to engender widespread public safety.

The president would then claim that properly training and funding police officers is the answer, rather than defunding the police. Biden later made it a point to advocate for a greater presence of mental health experts and social workers in particular situations.
According to the 46th president, police officers can’t be expected to do it all. In spite of Biden’s remarks in New York City, there are still elected members of his party who continue to call for defunding the police.
Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Just about anyone can get before a podium and make a grand speech. At the end of the day, what ultimately matters is the policies and reforms being put into place.
Right now, the city of New York is getting ready to fire law enforcement officers who are not vaccinated against COVID. Mayor Eric Adams is sitting by and allowing this to occur; meanwhile, he professes to care about crime in his community.

Both Adams and Biden are also moving to implement gun control at various levels of government. New York City has zero gun manufacturers and some of the most rigid gun control measures on the books.
The reality that none of this has stopped crime should be a wake-up call to Democrats; however, they remain unable to see the bigger picture.
