Recently, America First Legal (AFL) disclosed that the Biden White House played a role in the unprecedented raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in August 2022.
It has been reported that both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Biden White House were dishonest about their role in the operation.
NARA records reveal Biden White House collaborated with DOJ
AFL recently submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the National Archives and Records Administration’s (NARA) Office of the Inspector General.
The aim is to acquire records concerning the “Special Access Request” issued by the Biden White House for Trump’s documents stored at Mar-a-Lago.

On August 8, 2022, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed an unparalleled raid on Mar-a-Lago, citing the potential presence of classified records. Media outlets reported that aides within the Biden administration were “stunned” by this development.
Nonetheless, recent findings from NARA records, procured through AFL’s inquiry into the Mar-a-Lago raid, reveal the FBI gained access to these documents via a “special access request” made by the Biden White House on behalf of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
This information suggests that the Biden White House and DOJ may have collaborated to secure Trump’s records and potentially establish a justification for the law enforcement raid by utilizing a “special access request.”

Legal concerns raised over Biden White House’s involvement in Trump raid
Essentially, these findings indicate significant inconsistencies between the information shared by the Archives with Congress and what is revealed in internal communications.
For instance, on August 16, 2022, Acting Archivist Debra Wall informed Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) that NARA “had not been involved in the DOJ investigation or any searches it conducted.”
This striking disclosure implies NARA may have misled Congress about the White House’s involvement in the unprecedented raid on Trump’s residence. Additionally, the fact that the Biden White House acted “on behalf of” the DOJ raises considerable legal concerns.
As a result, AFL is urging NARA to disclose records concerning the Biden White House’s involvement in the raid on Trump’s residence. AFL shared a series of tweets today, shedding light on this unfolding scandal surrounding the Biden administration.
