The Democrat Party has an unfortunate predilection for focusing on issues which are not important and calling for “bold” change that’s counterintuitive and unnecessary. We’ve seen this time and time again; moreover, whenever the left is called out for their poor policies, proposals, and focus points, they merely opt to label their challengers as “racist.”
Once again, Americans are forced to bear witness to the poor talking points and ill-advised whims of leftists. Earlier this week, 2020 Democrat Joe Biden openly expressed complete support for banning the use of plastic bags, per reports from Washington Examiner.

The left’s interest in cracking down on the use of plastic bags is not entirely new; however, it does show that Democrats’ priorities are in the wrong place. If only leftists cared more about keeping government out of people’s lives than they care about whether or not someone carries their groceries in plastic bags.
Why Biden Opposes the Use of Plastic Bags
When speaking with supporters in Iowa, a woman from Kenya stood up and asked Biden about where his “focus” lies. She then followed up with an explanation that in her country, plastic bags are banned for environmental purposes.
Taking the bait, the former vice president immediately expressed support for this measure. Before his audience, Biden professed that he is “100%” on board with the idea of banning plastic bags in America. The 2020 candidate also went on to opine that the United States ought to be “phasing out” the use of plastic bags.
Of course, Biden’s audience promptly cheered and awarded him with a standing ovation.
Mixed-Up Priorities
Roughly five years ago, Democrats called for a ten-cent tax on each plastic bag across the country. Moreover, in 2019, the current House instated a prohibition against the use of plastic straws in their dining areas; of course, this happened around the time that Sen. Kamala Harris called for America to completely ban plastic straws.

Democrats have plenty to worry about, but straws and plastic bags are the least of their problems. If the left truly wants to address real matters of concern, they should begin with left-wing fascism; then they can move onto the Democrats’ ongoing false accusations of racism and their terrible, socialist policies.
Nevertheless, left-wingers’ determination to focus on issues which are the least of their worries is pretty much a given.
