Biden Renews Attacks Against Republicans

Earlier this month, Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, was violently attacked by a hammer-wielding man in his home. Pelosi had to be transported to the hospital for urgent medical care and it wasn’t long before the story made national news.

At this time, there are still a lot of questions regarding how the assailant was able to enter the Pelosis’ home, what motivated the attack, etc.

However, some folks have started to assign blame to Republicans, alleging that the political right is inciting violence. These same people are meanwhile quiet about Democratic figures like Joe Biden who routinely demonize conservatives.

Just over the weekend, the president continued his pattern of going after Republicans, this time tying it to the attack against Pelosi, per Breitbart News.

The Latest From Biden on Republicans

On Saturday, Biden was in Delaware in order to engage in early voting. Afterward, he spoke to reporters, which is when the attack against Pelosi came up again.

The president said the violence against the House Speaker’s husband can’t be truly condemned until people who make claims about rigged, stolen elections are called out. Biden then said this falls under the umbrella of “malarkey” that’s hurting democracy.

Later, the president would label this sort of talk as “the problem.” Yet, he didn’t acknowledge election deniers on his own side of the aisle.

After the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton went on The View and declared that Donald Trump was an “illegitimate president.”

After the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election, defeated Democrat Stacey Abrams said she didn’t really lose because the race was rigged with voter suppression.

By Biden’s own standards, this type of talk is also “malarkey” that’s endangering US democracy. The president’s argument that certain rhetoric can rile up mentally unbalanced people also applies to his side of the aisle.

One-sided Rhetoric

With the midterm elections being eight days away, Joe Biden is truly doing all he can to smear Republicans and make Democrats out to be the heroes.

Unfortunately for the president, reality is not on his side. Biden, just months ago, was writing off pro-Trump Republicans as dangerous to democracy and fascist.

When the president made these comments, he wasn’t worried about riling up mentally unstable individuals; instead, Biden was more preoccupied with trying to help his party win the midterms.

Most Americans can see what Biden says about the GOP and its members is not equally applied to his own party. This only further serves to damage what’s left of the president’s credibility.
