Since taking the White House, Joe Biden has been a consistently big spender. With the help of Congress, Biden put through various spending bills that are major factors in sky-high inflation today.
With inflation and interest rates growing on a consistent basis, the White House is repeatedly coming up with one excuse after the next to justify its expenditures.
Unfortunately, Americans who are getting eaten alive by higher costs have to pay the price for this administration’s fiscal choices.
On Friday, Biden continued his pattern of trying to explain away his heavy spending habits, according to Washington Examiner.
Detached From Reality
The president told labor and business executives that the American Rescue Plan, CHIPS and Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and other legislation signaled “progress” in government.
Biden then went on to say the results of this “progress” are just now starting to materalize. Per the president, results will be tangible in the months to come; though many Americans have their own thoughts on this.

Both the American Rescue Plan and Inflation Reduction Act are cited as bills negatively impacting inflation and overall costs. In fact, the Inflation Reduction Act is not going to live up to its moniker, per the reports of multiple economists.
In spite of this, Biden has absolutely no intention of walking back his spending. The president confirmed as much shortly after the midterms.
When asked by the media if he would make any changes to allievate concerns from folks who don’t believe the country is on the right track, Biden said no.
The One Silver Lining
While Biden doesn’t have any plans to voluntarily roll back his spending, he will be limited by checks-and-balances. Thus far, the president has enjoyed having both chambers of Congress controlled by the Democrat Party.
Though in the wake of Republicans taking back the House of Representative’s majority, Biden will now have to work with the GOP, rather than just passing legislation with only Democratic votes.

Leadership in the House GOP caucus has been clear they’re going to push back on elements of Biden’s agenda deemed as harmful. This means that future bills the president may have planned to pass with Democrats controlling the House and the Senate will now be averted.
After railing against the supposed danger of Republicans taking back control of either congressional chamber, the president now claims he’s looking forward to working with the GOP. Time will ultimately tell how this plays out.
