When it comes to making one absurd gaffe after the other, Joe Biden truly cannot help himself. His gaffes include, but are certainly not limited to, conflating race with poverty, praising himself for supporting “truth over facts,” and even claiming that he was vice president in 2018. In the wake of multiple blunders, Biden’s campaign aides are concerned about public perception and thinking of having Biden make less public appearances so that he doesn’t keeping humiliating himself.
Unfortunately for Biden, he did just that once again on Friday. Yesterday, Biden attended a campaign fundraiser event in his home state of Delaware.
Reports from Fox News confirm that while referring to a speech he made criticizing President Trump, Biden slipped up on correctly naming the state in which he made the speech. This latest gaffe comes right after reports of Biden’s staffers attempting to run damage control for the sake of his presidential campaign.
What You Need to Know about the Latest Biden Gaffe
Biden has blasted President Trump in speeches many times; although, yesterday, he mistook the state in which he accused the president of “fueling a literal carnage.” The former vice president claimed to have delivered the aforementioned remarks in Burlington, Vermont, but in actuality, he spoke in Burlington, Iowa. As Biden continues to make gaffe after gaffe, people have noted that his age of 76 years old may be a factor, especially since he tends to slip up later in the day.
Trying to Clean up the Blunders
As Biden continues to sink his credibility with blunder after blunder, he’s attempted to pass the buck and redirect attention. The press secretary for Biden’s campaign recently branded coverage of his multiple gaffes as a “press narrative” and not a “voter narrative,” but this simply isn’t accurate.
Democrats who are eager for a candidate to defeat President Trump are very concerned that their own frontrunner can’t seem to keep his foot out of his mouth. Biden, in another attempt to make light of the trouble he’s in, joked about his oral mistakes.
In Biden’s own words:
“I am a gaffe machine, but, my God, what a wonderful thing compared to a guy who can’t tell the truth.”
