Democrats continue seizing the coronavirus outbreak as an opportunity to attack the president. At a time where unifying and overcoming the virus should be the ultimate goals, the left keeps proving that their interests lie elsewhere.
Joe Biden is the latest and greatest example of where Democrats stand today. At every turn, the former vice president takes shots at the president, especially over the latter’s management of coronavirus. Biden has gone after Trump in the press and written op-eds that call Trump’s coronavirus response into question.
However, the former vice president’s hypocrisy was highlighted when he tried to go after Trump earlier this week. Biden attempted to make the case that Trump is ignoring the COVID-19 advice of Dr. Anthony Fauci; however, the president’s re-election campaign quickly reminded the 2020 Democrat that he himself once opposed China travel limitations, a measure that Dr. Fauci himself praised, notes Fox News.
The Double Standards on Heeding Fauci’s Advice on COVID-19
Contrary to the narrative that Democrats continue to paint, there is no animosity between President Trump and Dr. Fauci. As a matter of fact, the doctor himself has criticized the media for attempting to spin a tale suggesting otherwise.
On Tuesday, the former vice president urged the American people to follow the words and advice of Dr. Fauci. However, Biden’s short memory apparently caused him to forget that he himself wasn’t even following his own advice. President Trump’s re-election campaign didn’t hesitate to remind the Democrat frontrunner, though.
Andrew Clark, the Trump 2020 team’s rapid response director, informed Americans of Biden’s opposition against travel restrictions to and from China. Clark then pointed out that Fauci not only supported these restrictions, but that they also stopped additional cases of COVID-19 in America. After putting Biden’s hypocrisy on full display, Clark wrapped things up by calling out the Democrat’s “poor judgment and capacity to lead.”
Praise from Dr. Fauci
Unlike Biden, Trump has actually earned accolades from Fauci on his management of COVID-19. The doctor spoke highly of Trump’s decision to ultimately limit travel to and from Europe and China in the wake of coronavirus.
These are the same measures that the former vice president deemed as “hysterical xenophobia” on the day of their announcement. All things considered, Biden might do well to sit this one out and cease giving lectures on how to deal with coronavirus.
