So-called ‘anti-fascist’ activists are being investigated by the FBI for a bizarre plan to purchase guns from a Mexican cartel so that they can ‘stage an armed rebellion’ at the US-Mexico border, according to an unclassified report acquired by The Chicago Times.
The FBI document, from December 2018, refers to ‘anti-fascist activists’ who ‘planned to disrupt U.S. law enforcement and military security operations at the U.S.-Mexico border.’ The group of far-left activists allegedly had planned to buy firearms from a ‘ Mexico-based cartel associate known as Cobra Commander’, and use them in order to ‘stage an armed rebellion at the border.’
As nutty as it may sound, the story appears to be deadly serious.
The source who provided the document to the news outlet requested that the outlet refrain from publishing the six-page report since the investigation is ongoing.
Apparently, two law enforcement officials involved in the investigation confirmed that the investigation was indeed ongoing. Federal officials have warned a number of law enforcement agencies on both sides of the US-Mexico border about the plot. The document has also reportedly been forwarded with ‘priority’ to the D.H.S., DEA, CIA, NSA, and others as well.
Although no one has been charged yet, two of the individuals who were mentioned by name in the report told the San Diego Tribune that the accusations were ridiculous.
When questions by a reporter from the San Diego Tribune, Ivan Reibeling, the man who’s known as the Cobra Commander, said, “It doesn’t make any sense that someone from the United States would purchase guns in Mexico…And the Hondurans certainly didn’t bring money to buy guns. It doesn’t make any sense; in fact, it’s extremely absurd to say the Hondurans wanted to attack the United States at the border.
Antifa, as an organization, has a well-documented history of using violent means to achieve their ends. Notably, the far-left group has employed violence to shut down peaceful conservative speakers, journalists, and free speech advocates.
Although you won’t hear from the mainstream media, Antifa is – without a doubt- to blame for much of the violence that ensued during the alt-right’s Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville.
It doesn’t take much more than a simple YouTube search of ‘Antifa’ to see the group punching their political opponents in the face, launching fireworks at police officers, smacking non-violent protestors in the head with bike locks, and starting fires with Molotov cocktails on college campuses.
With that being said, isn’t it ironic that 2020 Democratic Party presidential candidate, Joe Biden, during his campaign launch, referred to members of Antifa who violently clashed with alt-righters at Charlottesville ‘a courageous group of Americans.’
