Whenever a mass shooting happens in America, Democrats immediately seize the opportunity to politicize it for their own gain and call for gun control. Time and time again, history has proven that gun control is ineffective because criminals don’t abide by laws.
In recent years, the Democrat Party amped up their gun control rhetoric; a prime example of this took place when now-former 2020 candidate Beto O’Rourke told Americans “hell yes, we’re gonna take your AR-15, your AK-47!” O’Rourke learned the hard way that people across the nation wouldn’t stand for it and eventually wound up canceling his presidential campaign.

Still, the fight for Second Amendment rights in this country is still very much alive. Following a California high school shooting which took place earlier this week, 2020 Democrats promptly rushed to call for more gun control, as reported by Breitbart News.
The Latest Attacks on the Second Amendment
Public shootings are always unfortunate, especially when innocent lives are lost as a result. However, the left’s politicization of public shootings is also unfortunate and furthermore speaks to a sense of desperation. By calling for gun control immediately after such a tragedy has taken place, Democrats are looking to exploit people’s emotions for their own political gain.
2020 Democrats Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden were the first to call for gun control following the high school shooting in California. Both presidential candidates also used similar soundbites in order to push their agenda and weaponize fear to get what they want.

If Democrats spent half as much time focusing on real factors which contribute to mass shootings, such as mental health, then there could be true strides forward. As long as the left continues to demonize inanimate objects and law-abiding citizens, they’ll continue to stifle and prevent real progress. Sadly, the Democrat Party has made it very clear that their only interest lies in disarming the public.
Stopping a Bad Person with a Gun
Time and time again, it’s been proven that a good person with a gun is the best solution for stopping a bad person with a gun. Americans see this every day with police officers, security guards, Secret Service agents, and others who are armed.

People like Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden may talk about how terrible guns are, but they won’t disarm their own security guards. The Democrats have no issues walking around with armed security, but they don’t believe the American people deserve the right to protect and arm themselves; this is fittingly hypocritical of Democrats.
Warren, Sanders, and others who seek to revoke Second Amendment rights are precisely why this amendment is in the Bill of Rights, to begin with.
